I always have a PAD hangover so here I am again- albeit a bit late! The Wednesday Poetry Prompt over on Poetic Asides is to Write The (Blank) Time poem. I’m trying a triolet b/c I never try poetic forms. This one is about last time I saw my Mom just before she went into her last days and passed from dementia.
The last time I saw you
I knew you had already left us
You sat shrivelled skin a hint of blue
The last time I saw you
I held your hand tried not to come unglued
Even as I knew I was standing on a precipice
The last time I saw you
I knew you had already left us
