Guess I’m still suffering a PAD hangover because I joined in the Poetic Asides Wednesday Poetry prompt to write an
‘After’ Poem
After we fall
I try to stand
But my breath
Is caught between
An inhale and exhale
We are no longer
An exquisite
Murmuration
Defying probability and
Nature
I try to walk
But the world has shifted
Air
Limbs
Gravity
No longer
Work in harmony
I think even the birds
Have forgotten how
To fly
And the sky is confused
How we will ever
Be two hearts beating
No longer as one
Footnote: If you haven’t watched this starling murmuration video it is gorgeous to watch nature in all its glory.
