April Poem A Day – Day 21

Writing a ‘Blank Me’ poem today. I recently read an article in the New York Times that coined our collective feelings of blahness (yup I’m making my own word) during the pandemic in a  psychological term called languishing – so fitting! It brought this poem to mind for today’s prompt.

Vanishing Me

I’m lost in
These spaces and places
Misplaced
Myself so many times
I forget why I
Wandered into a
Room
Stroll
Winding trails
Empty Streets
Like fallen leaves drifting
on a breathless wind
Even the stars are confused
in an ink dry sky
Clouds skid wayward
Dropping snow in spring
Moose amble down
Main street
As if they too have
Forgotten their place
