April Poem A Day – Day 7

Today’s prompt to write a Villian Poem took me to dark places. Anyone else having trouble sleeping this past year?

The Villain In My Head

I can tell you
About the thickness of
Silence
In the dead of night

The groan
Of a house
Bending beneath its
Weight

Give me evening and
I will discover the thunder
Of a rambling worry

The call of a mother
Bird to her young
On my windowsill
As dawn slinks in
And I fall to sleep
