April PAD Challenge Day 6

Today’s prompt – write an ekphrastic poem. An ekphrastic poem is a poem inspired by art. One of the samples is
‘Roots’ based on the art below. I found this one a challenge as I haven’t written this type of poem before and in the constraints of a work day couldn’t research other art or recall any that have struck me.  The one thing about a haiku poem is that you can say so much with so few words.

Here’s a Haiku for Roots inspired by Frida Kahlo’s art

Forever you said
Good place to lay down our roots
I lay in ashes

Roots by Frida Kahlo
